As an investigator, I spend a lot of time in sound-proofed interview rooms. In these cozy little spaces, I get up close and personal with some of the nastiest criminals in the world. Money launderers, mobsters, illegal gambling ringleaders – the list goes on. I sit with them, sometimes for hours on end, persuading them to tell me everything they know.
I usually use a pocket-sized tape-recorder to record my interviews. But recently, due to a series of mix-ups at the agency that I’d rather not get into, my tape recorder was unavailable, and I was forced to record the interview with my phone.
As soon as I entered the room, I placed my phone on the edge of the small wooden table, hit record, and took a seat facing the suspect. “So, how did you end up swimming in a pool of hundred-dollar bills in a secret Guatemalan hideaway?” I asked. (I don’t do softballs.)
The suspect glared at me. “How did you know I was in Guatemala?” he hissed, practically foaming at the mouth. “I didn’t tell a soul. Except Smith.
Yikes. The poor guy had no idea that Smith flipped on him weeks ago. “Listen, in this day and age, the walls have eyes,” I told him. “You can’t get away with anything. Just tell me how you got the money for that hideaway and I’ll help you out as much as I can.
“I’ll NEVER tell,” the suspect screamed, slamming both his hands down on the table. His shout ricocheted through the sound-proofed room, and the table shook with the force of his anger. My phone, which had been placed ever-so-precariously on the edge of the table (oops), tumbled to the floor.
My stomach lurched. I had been recording interviews all day on that phone. A broken phone meant missing evidence, and that meant a failed case. In other words, I would be toast.
I bent over and gingerly picked up the phone. OK, so far, so good. It was still recording. The screen was still in mint condition. I exited the recording app and checked my files. Everything was still in order. I breathed a sign of the relief – of course everything was fine. My phone was shielded by my new Covert 2 case from Ghostek. That thing is so sleek and subtle, but the protection is endlessly powerful. I’m going to recommend the Covert 2 to all of our field agents.
I calmly placed my phone on the center of the table and smiled at the suspect. “Now, where were we?”

If we ever publish an official Ghostek dictionary, we’ll put a picture of the Covert 2 right next to the word “sleek.” The Covert 2 combines elegant minimalism with unbeatable protection. The simple aesthetic conceals a powerful shockproof system that’s designed to keep your Galaxy S9 safe in every situation. The lifted bezel provides an added boost of screen protection, while the raised silicone gel corners act as supercharged shock cushions. Style and substance: the Covert 2 case has it all.
