As a marketing executive working in a MNC I lug around oodles of office papers and accessories to work, day after day! From laptop charger to Powerbank for mobile and USB drives, the list seems endless. That is why nowadays I try to keep the load minimal.
My iPhone X and Macbook air is enough. However, I decided to buy a protector cover for the iPhone since I move around a lot and it cost me a serious amount. After checking out a few cover cases for the devices, I chose the Ghostek iPhone X Protective Wallet Case (Exec 2 Series). I found the credit card storage slots quite handy.
I was more turned on by its stylish design of the unit but later it came to my rescue in a tricky situation. I went to Mississippi last month to cover a business seminar which lasted for 5 days – business is booming in that state because of their low tax rates. It was a big and important event and things were smooth initially.
However, the last day turned out to be rather stressful and hectic. In the morning, proceedings were disrupted by a networking glitch and that led to a delay for us to eat lunch. I was a bit stressed and wanted the event to be over but oh well, business had to be conducted. However, I felt some danger lurking ahead. Something did not feel right.
A presentation was in progress and we were busy taking notes. I was using my iPhone to record the proceedings from time to time too. Suddenly we felt tremors and things started shaking. It was an earthquake and warning sounds went off sending everyone in a scurry to rush downstairs. We could not use the elevators and everyone made a mad rush to the staircase.
I tripped over someone once and while rushing down the stairs the Phone fell from my hand, amidst all the jostling. It got knocked against the stairs and bounced as it landed and got kicked by the maddening crowd onto the landing. Just as I rushed to save the phone from its fateful end, I saw a young child who seemed to have appeared from nowhere, stuck in the mayhem. I wasted no time, and rushed towards her. I picked her up in my arms, and asked her name. But she was too frightened to speak. My mind returned to my phone and lunged forward with the child in my arms hunting for my phone on the landing.
I feared the worse, I picked up the device and was elated to see it was in immaculate condition. The screen was intact and it seemed to work all thanks to the rugged armor of this military like Ghostek case. Even the cover itself did not crack or bend due to the bumps and drops. I handed the phone to the kid, asked her if she knew her parents number. She nodded.
I let her use the phone and dial out and spoke to the ruffled parents who were franticly looking for her. I reunited the parents and took a quick click of a button through my slim case, to activate the camera. I will never forget that day and the smile on the child’s face as her mom wrapped her in a tight hug.
